Christmas Food Basket Program

Byesville Rotary provides Christmas Food Baskets to 150-200 families in the Rolling Hills School District. Club members commit to providing two boxes of food–one each of non-perishable and perishable items–in order to insure each family has enough food to provide a Christmas dinner and several good meals to start the new year.

Byesville Rotary partners with local businesses and organizations such as AVC, Reisbecks, and the Byesville and Buffalo VFW’s which help support this effort.

Community members and local students often show up on the days the club fills baskets and distributes baskets to help with this important work.

Two official fundraisers are held each year to raise money to purchase food items. These “Stuff Santa’s Stocking” fundraisers are held in September and October.

However, fundraising is never really over. In addition to its Christmas Food Basket Program, Byesville Rotary also fights hunger in Guernsey County by donating to the Main Street Methodist Food Pantry and to the Salvation Army Summer Lunch Program for school aged children.

You can help by donating to the Byesville Rotary Foundation.

Thank you.

End Polio Now

Since 2988, Rotary International has worked with the World Health Organization to eradicate polio worldwide.  This effort has resulted in a worldwide reduction in polio cases of 99.9%.

Polio is a virus is spread person to person, often through contaminated water. It can attack the nervous system, and in some instances, lead to paralysis.

  • Polio mainly affects children under age 5.
  • There is no cure, but polio is preventable with a vaccine.
  • Only two countries remain endemic.
  • Until we end polio forever, every child is at risk.

Byesville Rotarians are part of this effort to make the world healthier and safer for kids.
